The Talking
Brief CPD Workshops for advocates are suitable for both Solicitors and
Barristers. After an initial consultation regarding your particular
area of interest, (eg: presentation skills to clients, improved
communication with clients, relevant performance skills for court) a
workshop would be tailor made for your specifications. As these are
experiential workshops, participant numbers need to be at a maximum of
20. However, less people means more individual feedback.

Duration of Group Workshops
|

This
entirely depends on numbers in a group, areas to be covered and what
time is available. After an initial consultation, the Talking Brief
workshops can be adapted to a whole day, half day, three hours or a
series of workshops.
Three
hours is the minimum recommended time for a The Talking Brief
introductory workshop with a three hour follow up workshop a few weeks
later. This will enable participants to grasp the key concepts of the
performance skills covered, putting them into practice working with
text under encouraging guidance and positive feedback.

Whole Day Workshop Program

Morning:
Would cover the basic performance skills required for efficient, impressive appearances in Court.
Afternoon Sessions:
Applying these performance skills to specific courtroom transactions
by role playing them in a ‘moot court’ with feedback

- Closing Argument
- Referrals etc.

Whole Day Workshop for Solicitor Client Communication Skills
|
|
Morning:
- Presentation and selling skills, building a relationship and effective communication.
- What does the client want?
- What do you need to make the client feel to gain their trust and confidence?
- Tools to build your confidence and expression to impress the client.
Afternoon:
Role-playing client – advocate scenarios to put into practice skills acquired in the morning

The Talking Brief Workshops can be held on your premises or at a suitable venue in the CBD.
